Managing the Campaign

This week featured the debut of our new as campaign in various local newspapers.  We were a little wary of starting a new campaign so soon after our last one, especially since it did not work out too well.  We never did get to place our book review pieces back in.  However, with so much happening in town for April, we thought it would be a good idea to get a lot of publicity out .  (Personal aside:  This also macks the first time I have ever allowed my image to be used in any advertising.  All previous newspaper ads/pieces have either used the other co-owner or no image at all.  I also have never been in the radio ads/call-ins or on television, save for a few quick clips in the background.)  Since so many people will be in town soon for Hillbilly Days, we thought we should get the word out.  There will be at least three more ads that will be running, each one might be different -- we aren't sure yet what they will be.  The odd thing is, we won't even be open for all of the event.  We usually close early that Friday and not re-open until the following Monday.  While we are just far away from the main action that our business isn't disrupted, we aren't close enough to benefit greatly from the extra crowds.  People just park in the lot and walk to downtown and ignore the local businesses.  Oh well, maybe this can help us out after all anyway.
